Crews rescue dog that fell over cliff

Ragazzi News loves to report on stories with happy endings. A man was hiking in Washington’s Cascade Mountains when his dog slipped and fell, landing on a ledge. Rescuers came from all over the state to help save the dog. They walked over nine miles to save the German Shorthaired Pointer which had fallen over 100 feet.(full article)

Hero’s welcome for dogs of war

Stray dogs have helped men during times of war for centuries. Now two dogs that helped save a soldier’s life from a suicide bomber in Afghanistan, are being brought to America to live with the soldier and the medic who helped save him. The third dog Sasha died in the attack. All 3 dogs saved 50 soldiers in total who were sleeping when a Taliban terrorist tried to break into their barracks with explosives. The dogs stopped them, thus setting the bombs off outside the barracks. True hero dogs.(full article)

All Ragazzi Members should be careful when walking your dog off leash in an area you know has a lot of deer, such as the Hamptons or Fire island, because deer are attacking dogs to protect their does. Apparently coyotes are a natural enemy of the deer and therefore when a deer sees a dog it thinks “predator”.(full article)

Well some of us at Ragazzi News were a little surprised to read this article. We know times are tough for everyone these days but a city decided to start charging to let dog owners use the dog parks and we feel bad for all the dogs who won’t have a place to run and play at the parks because their owners can no longer afford to take them.(full article)

Dachshund survives a whole month in the woods

A woman walking her 2 dachshunds off-leash, was upset to see one of them run into the woods and not return. A search party did not locate the dog and the owner assumed her older dachshund with a heart condition would not survive. Ragazzi News is happy to report her dog was found, a bit scraped up but happy to be reunited with his mom.(full article)
